Tamil Nadu Science Forum (TNSF), Salem chapter, organised Thulir magazine’s 25th anniversary function by conducting competitions in elocution, poetry recitation, and drawing school students here recently. About students from 25 schools in the district participated in the competitions.
The forum district vice-president, Chandrasekar, presided over the inaugural function. Yercaud Elango spoke about Thulir magazine. Students took part in a debate on whether women deserve 50 per cent reservation in education and employment. Parents and teachers discussed whether students need restrictions in schools. District executive member Imayabalan coordinated the event.
At the valedictory function the forum’s district president, Samson Ravindran, presided. Sivakumar, Coordinator, Environment, Office of Chief Educational Officer, Salem, district secretary Ramamurthi spoke.
